Little Rascal Modelling Oh Japan

I haven't been posting much lately so I thought I'd post some of my favourite photos from my latest shoot with Little Rascal modelling a T-Shirt from Oh Japan. This was quite a relaxed and casual shoot but I am really pleased with the results. We had planned to shoot around the industrial warehouses in Wallsend but we decided to try somewhere else and moved to the Willington Dene Viaduct.

I've done quite a few shoots with Little Rascal and Oh Japan and this is one of my favourites. We currently have a few more ideas in the pipeline starting with a Game of Thrones cosplay shoot and I'm hoping to plan some more casual geeky looks like this in the future.

This was mainly shot with natural light using my Nikon D610 camera and 50mm 1.8 lens, although when we shot against the viaduct pillar, I used my SB-700 speed light and soft box to add some extra light into the shot.

Please let me know what you think or if you have any feedback.
Thanks for reading!

Woodland Shoot with Mccolie and Mark

This will be quite a short post. It's also quite a big throwback to a woodland shoot I did with Mccolie Webber and MBJ Photography a few years ago. I was really assisting Mark who was shooting Mccolie in the woods. I also gave her a lift to the location as Mark rides a motorbike. This was quite a fun, short shoot and I managed to snap a few photos of my own and thought I'd post my favorites here.

I'll try to do a longer post for next week; hopefully, I'll be able to get some more editing done now that my parents are going back to work this week. Wish me luck!

Scouting Abandoned Buildings

I haven't been shooting since the lockdown started and I'm really starting to miss it. Now the lockdown rules are being loosened I'm starting to plan some portrait shoots to get back into the game. But since the schools are reopening this week, I think I will leave it for at least another week or two to see how it goes, before I plan anything concrete.

My photographer friend, Rebecca, is looking for a derelict location for a video shoot she is planning so we met up and went exploring, with her little sister Abby tagging along. We spent about an hour on Thursday evening last week exploring this Second World War supply depot, just outside East Boldon.

It's a really interesting location with a large, gutted warehouse, a smaller warehouse behind it, a small corrugated metal warehouse, several half-standing brick houses and several overgrown concrete bunkers. Almost all of it is covered in graffiti and overgrown and it's only used by local teenagers and BB clubs. I've known about the location for a few years and used it for a smoke bombs shoot. I'd love to try and use it for another smoke bomb or alternative fashion shoot.

I really enjoyed catching up with Rebecca and taking these photos while exploring the buildings, really made me realize how much I miss photography and I can't wait to arrange some proper shoots in a couple of weeks.

Pinup with Grim Blossom Part 2

Since I've been stuck in lockdown, I've been catching up on editing and I just finished editing the rest of my favourite photos from my pinup fashion shoot with Grim Blossom in Durham. We shot these back in June 2018 so they are a little late but better late than never.

I don't shoot a lot of fashion and this was my first pinup style shoot but I really enjoyed it. We started shooting around the boat club by Elvet Bridge then walked into the city centre for a coffee break before heading back to another part of the river by Framwellgate Bridge.

I shot using my Nikon D610 camera with my 50mm lens and my SB-700 speed light with a collapsable softbox and radio triggers that I position with my left hand with my camera in my right. It's a bit tricky to get used to but it's my prefered way to shoot so I can light my shot with an off-centre flash.

I really hope I get the chance to work with Grim Blossom again and I might even plan another Pinup shoot or arrange another shoot in Durham. I love Newcastle but even I'll admit the smaller river lined with trees and crossed by stone arch bridges is very beautiful.

Thanks for reading and let me know what you think. If you'd like to check out the full set from this shoot, check out this album on my Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/NJDunnPhotography/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1533344870099954

Scouting the Valentines Fun Fair 2019

Last year I wanted to shoot with a model at The Valentines Fun Fair in Team Valley, so I decided to go and have a look around the location a few days before the shoot. This gave me a chance to learn where the rides were, look for inspiration and plan my shots.

I took a few photos of the rides and then I met up with Rebecca and Reece and I took some shots of them shooting and posing around the fair. I love shooting with colour gels in studios and all the lights on the fair looked amazing. It's really inspired me to try more ideas with my gels and hopefully, I'll be able to give them a go when the lockdown is lifted.

If you'd like to see the rest of the photos from this set you can see them here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/NJDunnPhotography/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1873809016053536 and please let me know what you think!
