Evie Brown #1

These might be a little overdue but here are some of my favourite photos from my first shoot with Evie Brown. Our first shoot was on location around Newcastle starting in Central Station where we took these. These were just taken with my Nikon D610 with my 50mm 1.8 lens using natural light with Evie posted against the copper plated ticket booths.

I've worked with Evie a few times now and I always enjoying shooting her but I'm a bit behind on my editing and so I'm trying to get caught up and thought I'd start with these.

What do you guys think? I wouldn't mind doing another monochrome natural light shoot like this again sometime.

York Unleashed Aug 2018

Hey everyone!

I hope you won't mind but this is quite a bit post, here are a some of my favourite photos from York Unleashed 2018 at York Racecourse in August early this year. It was my first time at this convention and I really enjoyed. It was a bit of a drive for me but really worth it; the race course was an awesome location for a convention, I got loads of photos and I even got to meet Ser Barriston Selmy, Septa Unella and Walder Frey from Game of Thrones.

Anyway, here are some of my favourite photos from the convention. Have a look and let me know what you think!

Kirsty's Modelling Day: Locky

Here's another set of my photos from Kirsty's (Miss County Durham 2018/19) Model Open Day with Rebecca Anna Photography at Trinity Photography Studio. Since they didn't really need my help I got a bit bored and decided to borrow some of their models and get some natural light shots on the floor underneath the studio.

Here are some of my favourite shots from my mini shoot with Locky underneath the studio, I shot these in monochrome with natural light from the window using a Nikon D610 with a 50mm 1.8 lens.

Let me know and keep your eyes peeled from some shots of some of the other models.

Cosplayer Project Test Shoot

Last week I did a test shoot for my new Cosplayer Project with Little Rascal as Shiro. I was quite worried about doing this as I wanted to shoot to go well so I'd have the confidence to re-start the project with an Open Day at Trinity Photography Studio.

I'm really glad I decided to this as I think it turned out really well. I was following the same brief as my original project 3 years ago but I was using new equipment at a new studio and crucial I'm a better photographer. For that reason, I purposefully didn't look at any of my old photos and I'm glad I didn't. I had planned to do the shots differently this time but I think they really show how much better I've gotten. Especially since I got over my awkward "over-exposed skin tone" phase.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Little Rascal for all of her help and support with this project. I've been struggling to get myself going again and I really appreciate her guidance and reassurance that helped me get the confidence to do this.

If you'd like to know more about my project check out my Just Giving account here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nicholasdunn18

Matt's Headshots

Here are some of my favourite photos from a client's headshot shoot outside the back of my studio in Gateshead. Matt asked for some head, neck and shoulder's shots for his modelling profile in black-and-white and taken with natural light. Natural light isn't really my forte as I usually prefer to use flash lighting but I appreciate having the chance to simplify the amount of equipment I used as I just used a 50mm lens on my camera with a reflector to balance out some of the highlights.

I'm really happy with them.
What do you guys think?

Kirsty's Modelling Day: Jan Part 1

Kirsty (Miss County Durham 2018/19 hosted a Model Open Day at my studio with Rebecca Anna Photography a few weeks ago. Since they didn't really need my help I eventually got a bit bored and decided to borrow some of their models and get some natural light shots on the floor underneath the studio.

I ended up working with a few of the models and I really liked the photos even though it wasn't a planned shoot and it only lasted about half an hour. Here are some of my favourite shots of Jan. We first did a set in monochrome just using natural light from the window using a Nikon D610 with a 50mm 1.8 lens. Then we used some fairy lights held in-front of the lens to create a glare effect (the top image) and finally we took a few snaps outside at the back of the studio (the last image). I'm really happy with how these turned out and I can't wait to work with Jan again.

Let me know and keep your eyes peeled for some more shots from this shoot.
