Chanel de la Vega

This is quite an old post but I'm trying to catch up on some of my old work and posting some of my older sets. This was quite a casual and impromptu autumn shoot with the fantastic Chanel de la Vega at Saltwell Park. If I don't have a specific idea for the model but just want to break the ice or get to know the model to come up with more specific or original ideas, I like to do a shoot like this.

I remember I was interested in working with Chanel so we decided to meet up one day in the middle of Autumn. We originally met at my studio but because the weather was nice and Chanel had a nice outfit for a location, we decided to head over to the park and take some photos there.

I really enjoyed working with Chanel and we are planning on doing some glamour and fitness shoots in the near future so keep your eyes peeled for them!

Pinup with Grim Blossom Part 1

Here are some of my favourite photos from my pinup fashion shoot with the lovely Grim Blossom on the bank of the River Wear in Durham. I'd been waiting for the opportunity to work with Miss Blossom for ages so when she mentioned she had a new dress she wanted to shoot, I leapt at the chance and we arranged to meet on the riverside in Durham.

We spent the best of an hour shooting around the boating club with the rowing boats under the bridge then went for a coffee in the city centre and took a few photos on our way back. I really loved working with Grim Blossom. I've never given much thought to Pin-Up but I really enjoyed this; maybe because I enjoy history and costumes so much. I'm really pleased with this shoot especially as it was relatively unplanned and it was during quite a low point for me.

We mainly shot with my Nikon D610 with a 50mm lens and I used my SB-700 speed light with a soft box attachment for some of the shots closer to the bridge.

I love these shots and I really hope I get the chance to work with Grim Blossom again.

Trinity Photography Studio: Cosplay Open Day #1

Happy New Year everyone! I've enjoyed having a bit of time off with my family over Christmas but I'm starting to feel better after a period of illness and hopefully 2019 will be a good year for me.

I'm trying to catch up with some of my editing from last year so I thought I'd post some of my favourite photos from my first Cosplay Open Day at Trinity Photography Studio. This was meant to be a combination of a social gathering and photoshoot. A bunch of cosplayers visited the studio throughout the day and we all had a cuppa and a catchup and took some photos of their costumes.

It was great to work with some familiar faces and a big shoot like this helped me become more comfortable in the studio. I'm hoping to do some more events like this in 2019 to help launch my Cosplayer Project and maybe some similar projects. But in the meantime, check out these photos and let me know what you think.

Cheers.
